Not Financial Advice (NFA) Disclaimer
Please review this financial risk warning and regulatory disclaimer thoroughly before relying on any data, scores, models, or automated calculations published on MoatPicks.io.
1. Strict Educational & Quantitative Analytics Purpose
MoatPicks.io ("the Platform") and its creators, owners, operators, and affiliates do NOT provide financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Nothing on this website, in our newsletters, in the MoatBot AI chat responses, or generated through our screening engines constitutes an endorsement, offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy, sell, short, or hold any security, stock, exchange-traded fund (ETF), option, cryptocurrency, or derivative.
MoatPicks.io is exclusively a technological software tool designed to organize, screen, and calculate mathematical metrics based on publicly reported historical financial data.
2. No Regulatory Registration or Brokerage Status
MoatPicks AI is NOT registered as an Investment Advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), Spain's Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), or any other regulatory body worldwide.
MoatPicks is not a registered broker-dealer, trading desk, or portfolio management firm. We do not execute trades, hold investor capital, provide custody of funds, or handle client orders.
3. Algorithmic Nature of Moat Scores & Valuations
Any numerical rankings, including the Moat Score™ (1–100), Peter Lynch PEG ratios, Graham fair-value estimates, Benjamin Graham net-nets, and "Buy The Dip" multipliers, are the strictly automated output of mathematical heuristic algorithms.
- Quantitative Heuristics: Moat Scores reflect historical balance sheet metrics (Return on Invested Capital, Gross Margin Stability, Net Debt/EBITDA, Free Cash Flow Yield). High scores indicate strong historical fundamental characteristics, not future stock price appreciation.
- Algorithm Limitations: Algorithms cannot account for unforeseen regulatory crackdowns, geopolitical conflicts, management fraud, black swan macro events, or systemic sector contractions.
- Past Performance: Past fundamental resilience or historical stock price appreciation is NO guarantee or predictor of future returns.
4. Market Volatility & Risk of Substantial Capital Loss
Investing in public equities, American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), foreign stocks (such as African, European, or Asian equities), and emerging markets entails significant financial risk. Stock prices can fluctuate unpredictably and may decline to zero. You could lose all or a substantial portion of your invested principal. Never invest capital you cannot afford to lose completely.
5. Market Data Latency & Third-Party Sources
Market prices, quotes, and market capitalizations displayed on the Platform are retrieved from third-party APIs (primarily Yahoo Finance) and are generally delayed by approximately 15 minutes unless specifically noted.
Institutional portfolio data (Form 13F Superinvestor Whale Tracker) is gathered from regulatory disclosures submitted to the SEC. Form 13F filings are submitted up to 45 days after the close of a fiscal quarter, meaning positions reflect historical holding periods and not real-time transactions.
While we make reasonable efforts to verify data pipelines, MoatPicks makes NO warranties regarding the uninterrupted availability, accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party market data.
6. MoatBot AI Assistant Limitations
MoatBot is an automated artificial intelligence assistant powered by large language models (LLMs) and mathematical heuristics. MoatBot has no fiduciary duty to you. Responses provided by MoatBot are generated algorithmically for conceptual exploration and qualitative comparison. You must verify all factual assertions independently.
7. Requirement to Conduct Independent Due Diligence
Before executing any financial transaction, purchase, or trade, you should always conduct your own rigorous independent research (reading official SEC 10-K and 10-Q filings, investor relations disclosures, and earnings call transcripts) and consult with a certified, licensed Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) or registered financial professional who is familiar with your personal financial objectives, tax status, and risk tolerance.
